Google Report: KitKat Now on 20% Android Devices
Data released by Google
suggests that more than one-fifth (20.9%) of the active Android users in
the market are currently using KitKat. This makes Android KitKat only
second in its reach with Jellybean being the most widely used Android
version. KitKat is designed to work effectively on devices with low-end
specifications and is unanimously appreciated by a huge chunk of android
users.
Being one of the most efficient Android
products available in the market, corporate giants like LG and Samsung
look forward to get it to a wider audience. The successful update has
not only left its predecessors far behind, but the numbers are slowly
beginning to decline for all the previous Android versions. More people
are logging out of their older systems to get this new updated version
on their devices.
Whether KitKat makes it to the top or
not is another matter altogether. That question probably requires a
little more waiting, at least till the latest version Android L is
introduced in the market within a few months’ time. The word goes that
the newest update would not let KitKat grow for much longer once it’s
out in the field as it’s going to be the next big update from Google.
Android has sure come a long way ever
since its inception just a few years back. The operating system is now
being incorporated in multiple electronic fields. Apart from
smartphones, the OS is now being used in laptops, TVs and other
electronic products and is proactively supported by a massive team of
developers and enthusiasts. It seems like times are looking good for
Android.
