Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Alpha tomorrow. It is the first smartphone in the company’s portfolio to boast metallic build materials and also the smartphone described as “built using new materials” by a Samsung executive.
The Galaxy Alpha isn’t the ultra-premium smartphone everyone was expecting, but a mid-range device with a metallic frame. Aside from this frame, the smartphone is still plastic with a perforated plastic back panel a la Galaxy S5.
From what we know of the specifications so far, the Galaxy Alpha will feature a 4.8-inch 720p display, and will be powered by an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor paired with Mali-T628 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone will also feature a 12-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB internal storage, but no microSD card option to expand the memory. As we have reported before, the smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner and a heart rate monitor.
